This meetup has been going on since about November 2011, as a place to organize weekly game nights.  We play mostly Euro-style strategy games, such as those found on boardgamegeek.com.  So, experienced strategy gamers are preferred but if you don't mind learning some relatively complicated rules, we are happy to teach.  We are always looking to recruit others to the die-hard boardgamer cult.  Welcome!

A good chance for us gals who love a good boardgaming session to get together for a good session - without the lads! The games we play are mostly lighter strategy-based games such as Ticket to Ride, Carcassone, Dominion, etc.  Newbies are welcome!

Pétanque (pronounced "pay-tonk") originated in Provence, France at the turn of the last century. It's played with metal balls (boules) and, like horseshoes and bocce, is easy to learn and fun to play. You throw the boules while standing with your feet together in a circle. There's a small wooden target ball (the cochonnet), which you have to get as close as possible to.
